Susan's comments

2 days at sea and plenty to see. As part of our adventure we have all been invited to help with the wild life survey starting with sea birds. By recording different seabirds, scientists are able to use the information to follow birds and see how they are exploited and hopefully see how we can help and encourage numbers. Some birds have been fitted with radar which helps to track illegal fishing. Later we will be asked to help with the whale watch. Many of the tourist ships are invited to help scientists with this valuable work and people can even send in their photos and information from anything to seaweed to sea birds on their return to the Citizen Science Collective. I was delighted to hear that in 2000, only 2,000whales were recorded but by 2022 this number had increased to 22,000!
